These flashlights are nice. They are light weight and fit nicely in my hand. There are 2 problems though. First is that some of the switches to open the hand crank stick and has to be pried a lot to move. The second is that the only instruction on the box says to shake to recharge! Shaking doesnât do anything except maybe break it. So I marked it off with a sharpie. Hopefully the child can figure out how to open it

That is not clear enough, and we agree it could cause confusion. These are hand-crank flashlights, not shake-to-charge flashlights, and we will review the packaging/instructions with our supplier. I tried these out with my grandkids. Great hit! I bought this for my occ shoeboxes, and I think I will keep a few for power outages for the grandkids. Will buy again.
I ordered 1, the first time around to check it out. The next time I ordered 90 more. Having been to multiple countries, where light is a premium, these are wonderful.
My only concern was, the box says Simply Shake to Recharge. I spoke with a Lion Wholesale person; they said the boxes come that way. It appears enough of these have been ordered that the kids figure it out.
I would definitely reorder.

I bought some of these from another online seller. These are much cheaper. These are a great idea, because no batteries are needed. Every shoebox I did have one of these in it.
Will be putting one of these flashlights in almost every box since you never know when they will come in handy!
I was surprised how much light these produce. They will not take up much
room in the shoeboxes. I will be buying one for each box our kids will be
packing during VBS this summer.
I have blackout curtains in my bedroom, so its pretty dark. I turned out the light and used this flashlight. I was able to navigate the room with ease. Will definitely be buying more of these!

Thanks Carol. Well, actually I tore one of these apart to see how it is made and how it works. Yes, it does indeed have batteries. However, it seems like the batteries just store energy. Because I disconnected the batteries from the device and without the batteries it still generates light and works the same.
